Implementation of this strategy is based on three key rules:

We created the Safety Golden Rules out of concern for safety at work. The Safety Golden Rules determine in a simple manner the way in which a person should behave to prevent occurrence of hazardous situations and accidents. All Tarmac Aggregates operations are obliged to follow Golden Rules closely to ensure safety for all employees, clients, contractors, and all persons staying at the sites.
Golden rule 1 Fundamentals
Golden rule 2 Confined spaces
Golden rule 3 Working at heights
Golden rule 4 Energy and machinery isolation
Golden rule 5 Vehicles
Golden rule 6 Mechanical lifting
Golden rule 7 Quarrying operations
Golden rule 8 Working on or near water
Golden rule 9 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
The Safety Golden Rules were developed after a review of fatal and serious incidents in our business. More than 80% of these incidents occurred in the areas covered by these Safety Golden Rules. The Safety Golden Rules are a condition of employment and must be followed at all times.
